Chris Van Niekerk

Van Niekerk finished in second place in the men's shotput with a throw of 17.86m.  He also finished fifth in the men's discus with a mark of 52.94m.

Big South Track Athlete of the Week

Hocine Bouchrak 

Bouchrak finishing in second place in the men's 3000m steeplechase and breaking Dakota Pechee's school record, which had stood since 2013.  Bouchrak ran 8:41.90 which was over a second faster than Pechee's time of 8:43.04 in which he ran at the 2013 NCAA Championships.  Bouchrak's time currently puts him in third place in the NCAA East Region in the event.

Big South Field Athlete of the Week

Sydney Horn

Horn won the women's pole vault with a second bar clearance at 4.40m at the Duke Invitational.  Horn just missed in three attempts at 4.46m.
