Athletic CommunicationsÂ
Interns in the Athletic Communications department may assist in a variety of roles depending on availability and previous skills or experience. Duties may include assisting with social media management, basic graphic design, writing press releases, statistics during games, updating the athletics website, photography, videography, file management, office organization and media relations. Athletic Facilities & Operations
Interns can gain experience in all areas of Athletic Facilities & Operations. Opportunities are open to both current HPU students and non-students. Experience may include general game day operations, facility set-up & break down, visitors liaison, game day operations staff, daily facility maintenance, scoreboard operation, game flow supervision, develop & maintain in office files, develop operations manuals and assist with daily facility & operation needs. For more information, contact Director of Athletic Facilities & Operations Caleb Bettis at cbettis@highpoint.edu.
Compliance
The Compliance Intern works in conjunction with the Director of Compliance on education, monitoring, and enforcement of all High Point University, Big South Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, assisting in the monitoring of phone calls, contacts and evaluations using Front Rush; maintaining forms and files, monitoring activity logs, developing educational materials for student-athletes, coaches and staff and other duties. Development
Development/Panther Club internships introduce students to the area of development and fundraising by offering hands-on experience working on the HPU Panther Club staff in support of High Point University's NCAA Div. I athletic programs. Duties will include assisting with direct mail solicitations, gift processing, gift acknowledgment, prospect research, database management, capital campaign support and staffing Panther Club hospitality areas. HPU Sports Link (video production & broadcasting)
Current HPU students can gain experience in video production and broadcasting by becoming involved with HPU Sports Link. The Sports Link works directly with the HPU Athletics to broadcast High Point's home games on the ESPNÂ Network. Students who are dedicated to the HPU Sports Link get real-world experience working with professional broadcast and production equipment in a variety of roles right on campus. Sports Marketing
Marketing interns play a vital role in the department's success. Interns act as the liaison between the athletic department and numerous campus organizations, community groups and corporate sponsors. Duties may include game-day management, promotional development and sponsorship fulfillment. Interns get hands-on experience in the marketing and promotion of High Point University's NCAA Div. Team Managers
Team manager positions are available for many sports at High Point University. Duties may include assisting the coaching staff during practices and games, office management tasks, filming and video breakdown or equipment management.
