CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Big South Conference announced the men's track and field athletes of the week on Wednesday afternoon. High Point University's
Ricardo Montes de Oca was named the Field Athlete of the Week for the third time this outdoor season adn
Camerin Williams was named the Co-Track Athlete of the Week for the first time.
Montes de Oca competed in the pole vault at the Aggie Invitational held by NC A&T. He placed first overall, winning his third straight pole vault title of the outdoor season after clearing 5.52m.
Williams raced in his first meet of the outdoor season in the last heat of the 800m invite and recorded a 1:47.66 time, posting his third time in his career under 1:48.00 (1:47.37 is his own program and Big South record which was set at the 2025 Big South Championships). His 1:47.66 time last week will put him in the running to qualify and return for the NCAA East First Rounds.
High Point travels to UNC Charlotte for the Charlotte Invitational on Friday April 24 and Saturday April 25.
