HPU Strength & Conditioning

ABOUT HPU STRENGTH & CONDITIONING

The High Point University Strength & Conditioning staff is comprised of individuals who have served a wide variety of collegiate student-athletes. The Strength & Conditioning staff has developed the ability to adapt and provide training programs that will prepare student-athletes for the demands of their sport. 

Training programs are developed to improve energy system development, power and force output, mobility and flexibility, and general wellness.  As a staff, the Strength & Conditioning Coaches will utilize their education and practical experiences to foster a safe and effective environment for all student-athletes. 

Each member of the HPU Strength & Conditioning  staff possess a list of certifications that have been earned to demonstrate their educational background. 

 

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the High Point University Strength & Conditioning Department is to provide student-athletes with purposeful and strategic preparation for the demands of gameplay utilizing sound, data-driven, and practical training principles.

FACILITIES

The High Point University Strength & Conditioning program has three weight rooms for student-athletes to use. The weight rooms are housed in the Qubein Center, Steele Center and Millis Centers on campus. Between all three weight rooms, student-athletes has access to racks, free weights, machines, posterior chain developers, assault bikes, versa climbers, ellipticals, treadmills, EliteForm and timing gates.

Fuel Zone

 

All three facilities are equipped with a “Fuel Zone” to aid in the student-athlete recovery process. Students are advised to eat a post workout snack after each training session to help muscle recovery.
