The High Point University women's basketball team (11-12, 9-5 Big South) hosts Gardner-Webb University (13-10, 8-6 Big South) on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 15) at 4 p.m. as part of High Point University's Family Weekend.

Matchup History
  • High Point and Gardner-Webb have played each other 36 times, with the Panthers holding a 22-14 advantage in the series.
  • The Runnin' Bulldogs got the better of the Purple and White in the first meeting between the two this season, winning 70-57. It's the only game in 2020 that High Point has failed to score 60 points in.
  • HPU struggles against Gardner-Webb on the road but has a commanding lead in the series at home, entering the game 13-4 against GWU at the Millis Center.

Panther Notes
  • High Point lost a heartbreaker to Campbell last time out, falling 68-66 in the final second. It was the first game since 2016 that the Panthers have lost in the final second, the last being a 68-65 loss at home to the very same Campbell Fighting Camels.
  • Senior Camryn Brown led the team with 24 points, her second consecutive 20-point game.
  • Brown also finished with five assists, giving her 431 in her career and moving her to the top of High Point's Division I career assists leaderboard.
  • Skyler Curran and Jenson Edwards also scored in double digits against Campbell, each finishing with 11 points to their names.
  • Curran was named the Big South Player of the Week on Monday (2/10) for the third time this season after she notched her fourth double-double of the year last Tuesday against Hampton. It's the third straight week that HPU has had a player named Player of the Week by the Big South and fourth out of the last five weeks.
  • The Panthers are now 6-3 at home this season, the third-best home winning percentage in the Big South. HPU is 5-1 at home in conference contests, the second-best record in the Big South for such games.
  • High Point had its best game from behind the arc at Upstate on last Saturday, going 16-29 from deep for a 55.2% shooting percentage. It's the first time this season that HPU has shot above 50% from three-point land and a stark contrast from the first game against the Spartans where the Purple and White attempted a total of 20 triples in the whole game.

Three-Point Club make total: 246

Across the Bench
