HIGH POINT, N.C. - Katie Yakel joined the High Point University Sports Medicine staff on August 1, 2017. Yakel serves as the assistant athletic trainer for the Panthers' volleyball and women's lacrosse programs.
 
Yakel graduated from University of the Pacific in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine with an emphasis in Athletic Training. She continued her educational career at Boise State University, earning a Master's of Athletic Leadership degree in May 2017. Yakel served as the graduate assistant athletic trainer for the Broncos' softball program for the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons.
 
Yakel is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association.
