HIGH POINT, N.C. – High Point University women's basketball coach
DeUnna Hendrix has announced the promotion of
Jenna Burkett to Recruiting Coordinator on Friday.
Â
Burkett enters her fifth season at HPU with a 69-57 overall record as well as a Big South regular season title in 2013-14 and two straight Big South Championship game appearances.
Â
"Over the past four years, Jenna's work ethic, dedication, and commitment to the vision of our program has undoubtedly aided in our success on the recruiting trail," Hendrix said. "She works diligently to find student-athletes who are the right fit, which has helped create an incredible team culture, both on and off of the court. None more loyal, Jenna is certainly deserving of this elevation."
Â
During her tenure, Burkett has coached two of HPU's three Big South Players of the Year in
Stacia Robertson (2014-15) and
Emma Bockrath (2016-17). Â Likewise, Burkett has been instrumental in recruiting five Big South All-Freshman Team members including 2013-14 Big South Freshman of the Year
Kaylah Keys.
Â
Under Burkett's tutelage, several offensive program records have been rewritten. The Altoona, Pa. native helped Keys break HPU's Division I marks for points, three-pointers and free throws. Likewise, the 2016-17 squad broke the Division I record for three-point and free throw percentage last winter.
