HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University women's basketball team returns to the Millis Center on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. to host Barton College.

The Panthers (1-2) are coming off a 77-50 setback at No. 11 Duke on Thursday, but trailed by just eight midway through the third quarter. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs (3-2) dropped both of its contests in the North Georgia Classic over the weekend.

DOUBLE-HEADER
The Purple & White host Barton College in the second double-header of the season with the men's basketball team playing Methodist at 8:00 p.m. The games will be on different tickets, so the Millis Center will be emptied between contests.

PANTHER NOTES
• Emma Bockrath has racked up three straight double-doubles for the first time in her career to open the 2017-18 campaign. She is one of just eight players nationally with three double-double in three tries this season.

• Despite playing a forward spot, Shea Morgan has paced the team in assists in two games this year. The junior is fourth in the Big South with 4.0 assists per game.

• HPU assisted on 56.6 percent of its field goals last season, which was a six percent increase from 2014-15. With eight of the nine Panthers who dished out at least 10 helpers last year back, HPU has assisted on 57.3 percent of its makes this season.

• The addition of Heather Kearney to the staff is showing early returns as HPU's pressure defense has held opponents to a .180 mark from three-point land, which ranks eighth in the country. Last season, opponents hit .310 from long distance against the Panthers' defense.

• High Point's 23 steals against N.C. Wesleyan is tied for the seventh most in a game so far this season. Meanwhile, the Panthers' 98 shot attempts are tied for the highest single-game mark in the country and the 111 points from that contest rank 10th.

• The Panthers are 47-21 in the Millis Center under head coach DeUnna Hendrix including seven wins in their last eight games.

• HPU is 7-0 against non-Division I opponents during Hendrix's five seasons on the sidelines. The average score of those outings has been 84-53.

Consecutive Starts Record
Bockrath has started 64 straight games through the last two-plus seasons leaving her nine games short of tying HPU's D-I record.

Adding a New Dimension
• In the first 45 games of her career, Bockrath shot 28.2 percent form beyond the arc averaging 0.7 three-pointer made per game. Since then, the junior is hitting 41.0 percent from downtown and drilling over 1.6 trifectas per outing.

• Similarly, sophomore Camryn Brown is connecting on 50.9 percent (28-of-55) of her three-point attempts since the midway point of her freshman season.

• The duo has accounted for 16 of the team's 22 three-point makes and just 16 of the 32 misses this year.

Continuing to Rebound
• Last year, HPU outrebounded its opponents by 5.3 boards per outing, which ranked 45th nationally. That mark was an 8.6 per game improvement from 2015-16.

• Through three games in 2017-18, that trend as continued as HPU ranks 66th nationally with 46.0 rpg. The team also boasts a plus-5.0 in rebounding margin per contest.

• HPU outrebounded N.C. Wesleyan by 22 and Ohio by 13 before losing the battle on the glass at Duke on Thursday.

All-Time Series with Barton
This is the first meeting between the Bulldogs and Panthers since HPU moved to the Division I level. However, they've met 47 times with High Point leading 28-19.

Scouting the Bulldogs
Barton is led by the dynamic veteran duo of Alex Kimble and Dinah Neal who combine for 36.4 points per game, which is 62 percent of the team's average. The squad opened the year with three straight wins, but lost each of its last two contests to Georgia College and North Georgia in last weekend's North Georgia Classic.

NEXT UP
High Point is back on the road after a break for Thanksgiving with a two-game stint at Stetson (Nov. 27) and Norfolk State (Nov. 29).
