Box Score Rima Margeviciute scored 13 points and Daina Staugaitiene and Katie Feenstra added 10 points apiece to lead Liberty to a 72-49 win over High Point Saturday night in the Millis Center.
Katie O'Dell led the Panthers (8-11, 3-3 Big South) scoring 14 points, while Charlena Martin and Candyce Sellars each provided nine points.
The Panthers lost their second conference game in a row and drop to 8-11 overall and 3-3 in the Big South. Liberty improves to 14-5 overall and a perfect 6-0 in the conference.
LU raced out to a 10 point halftime lead closing with a 12-5 run thanks to 51% shooting from the field in the first half, despite preseason conference player of the year, Feenstra, on the Lady Flames bench saddled with foul trouble.
In the second half, HPU could not cut into Liberty's halftime lead. The Lady Flames scorched the net shooting 55% from the field including a blistering 80% from behind the arc.
Feenstra rebounded from her early foul trouble by scoring nine of her 10 points in the second half.
Katie Ralls tallied six assists and two steals for the Panthers.
High Point returns to action Wednesday night at home against the Radford Highlanders. Tip-off is set for 7:00 pm in the Millis Center.
