Box Score

Katie O'Dell tossed in a game-high 16 points to lead High Point to its second-straight win, a 60-44 victory over Campbell in HPU's final non-conference tuneup of the season Monday night in the Millis Center.

The Panthers improve to 6-7 on the year, while the Lady Camels fall to 3-8.

Charlena Martin
added nine points, five assists, and three steals for the victorious Panthers. Kate Jenner added eight points and Chan Ingram seven points for HPU, while Timberley Jones pulled down a team-high five rebounds and notched three blocked shots.

Kelli Manning and Kristal Troy led the Lady Camels with nine points apiece. Troy also contributed a team-high five boards. Jennifer Martin, Terra Guandolo and Octavia Blackwell each contributed two steals.

High Point was in control from start to finish, and scored 13 of the game's first 16 points to take a 13-3 lead on Ingram's jumper with eight minutes in. The Panthers coasted to a 25-5 advantage and put the clamps down defensively on the Lady Camels, who missed 15 of their first 18 shots from the floor and didn't hit double-digits in the scoring column until Manning drained a jumper with 4:17 to play in the half to pull Campbell within 25-11.

HPU took a 27-11 advantage to intermission, and held the Lady Camels to just 25 percent shooting (5-of-20) in the first half.

Trailing 32-13 three minutes into the second half, the Lady Camels put together a 9-0 run to pull within 32-22 on two free throws by Troy, but would get no closer. O'Dell nailed a pair of three-pointers in the next minute and Jenner added a jumper to give the Panthers a 40-22 advantage.

HPU then held Campbell without a field goal for more than seven minutes in the middle part of the second period and lengthened its lead to 56-33 before Manning ended the Lady Camels' drought from the field with 4:30 to play.

The Panthers led by as many as 25 points following intermission en route to the 16-point win. All 10 players on HPU's active roster scored at least two points.

High Point opens Big South Conference play at home Thursday night against Winthrop. Tip-off in the Millis Center is set for 7:00 pm.
