HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University women's basketball Head Coach Wyatt Foust has hired Daniel Boice as Associate Head Coach, HPU President Dr. Nido Qubein and Vice President and Athletic Director
Dan Hauser announced on Wednesday.
Daniel Boice joins High Point after spending the 2025-26 season at the University of Florida, where he served as an assistant coach following his initial role as director of player development beginning in the summer of 2023. During his time in Gainesville, Boice played an important part in the Gators' growth, contributing both on the court and in player development initiatives.
"I'm incredibly honored to join High Point University and the storied tradition of this women's basketball program," Boice said. "I want to thank Coach Foust for the opportunity to come work alongside him as we strive to be extraordinary in all we do. Go Panthers!"
Boice brings more than a decade of experience at the collegiate level, including a proven track record of developing elite talent. Prior to Florida, he spent seven seasons at the University of Kentucky, where he worked closely with standout guard Rhyne Howard, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 WNBA Draft. Under his guidance, Howard helped lead Kentucky to an SEC Championship in 2021 and earned SEC Tournament MVP honors.
"Dan has always stood out in the coaching world as someone who has their fingerprints all over the entire program he works with," Foust said. "Having spent a career at the highest level of coaching, he understands the goals we're setting and the direction we want to take the program. His versatility, work ethic and ability to develop lifelong relationships with his players will be a huge asset to High Point University Women's Basketball."
While in Lexington, Boice helped the Wildcats reach the NCAA Tournament four times, including three appearances in the second round, and played a role in the program's SEC Tournament title during the 2021-22 season. He also served as interim assistant coach during the 2020-21 campaign.
Boice's background includes extensive experience in scouting and video coordination, skills he developed early in his career. Before his time at Kentucky, he was on staff at the University of Arizona, where he began as a student manager before being promoted to video coordinator for two seasons. His work in video analysis and opponent scouting has been a consistent strength throughout his career.
Boice's coaching career began at Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, where he played one season before transitioning into a student assistant role. In that position, he was involved in coordinating camps, assisting with recruiting, and organizing player development workouts, helping produce five NAIA All-Conference selections.
A graduate of Arizona, Boice earned his bachelor's degree in education before later completing a master's degree in educational leadership.
Boice and his wife, Ali, have two children: McKale, and Boden.
