Costabile Earns First Collegiate Win at Sapona Invitational

LEXINGTON, N.C. — The High Point University women's golf team had four individuals compete in a two-day, 36-hole event at the Sapona Country Club, which concluded on Tuesday afternoon.

All four Panthers finished in the top 10 as Peyton Costabile won her first collegiate tournament, while Savannah Cherry and Aubri Braecklein also earned hardware with top-5 placements.

Head Coach Lyndsey Hunnell: "One of the hardest parts about coaching golf is that you can't bring the entire team to events. I was excited to get to send these four to an event to get some reps in and feel what it's like to be at the top of the field! Having all of them finish in the top-10 just shows how deep this team is. I am so excited for Peyton to get her first collegiate win! She has been putting in a lot of work with a tough academic schedule, and it showed this week. I know she gained some great experience today going into a tournament leading and sealing the deal!"
