CHARLOTTE, N.C. — For the seventh time this season, High Point University women's golfer
Makayla Grubb has earned a weekly honor as she was named the Big South Conference Freshman of the Week on Tuesday by the league office.
It is her fifth Big South Freshman of the Week accolade to pair with two Big South Golfer of the Week awards.
Grubb tied for runner-up at the Rivertowne Intercollegiate with a 4-over 220 (75-72-73) for her best collegiate finish. The freshman sunk eight birdies, while making a hole-in-one in the first round on hole 14 with an 8-iron that she drove 138 yards. Her performance led the Panthers to the team title for the second consecutive year.
