Eva Lye has been named the Big South Conference Women's Golfer of the Week, while teammate
Makayla Grubb was tabbed the Big South Freshman of the Week honoree for events played Feb. 5-11, as announced on Thursday by the league office.
The rookie Panther duo picked up where they left off in the fall, which saw them win a combined seven weekly awards.
Lye went 3-0 in her three matches at the Oyster Shuck Match Play event to help the Panthers finish 2-1 as a team for third place. She won 8&7 in her opening match against The Citadel followed by a 5&3 triumph over Samford and 6&5 victory vs. Gardner-Webb. Lye had seven birdies and one eagle during her competition.
Grubb was 2-0-1 in her three matches at the Oyster Shuck Match Play. She won her opening match against The Citadel 8&7 before an All-Square effort vs. Samford. Grubb defeated her Gardner-Webb competitor by a 7&6 result, and finished with seven birdies overall.
