HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Big South Conference has announced its All-Conference teams as High Point University has four Panthers honored with postseason awards.
For the third year in a row, High Point is Regular Season Champions. The Panthers finished the season with an overall record of 24-5, and a 13-3 record in conference play. HPU holds the No. 1 seed heading into the Big South Conference Tournament for the third year in a row.
#13 Macy Spencer, Jr., Guard: Big South Player of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, & First Team All-Conference
Spencer had a stellar year leading the team in points (537), field goals (177), three-pointers (85), free throws (98), and minutes (31.8) while earning multiple Player of the Week awards. She started all 29 games this season. Spencer averaged 18.5 points per game. She scored in double-digits in 25 of her 29 games. Spencer started the season off hot, making a career high nine three-pointers against the University of Louisiana (Nov. 28). She secured the Panther's first double-double of the season against College of Charleston (Nov. 29) with 16 points and 10 rebounds. She tallied a career-high 38 points, 11 field goals, and 11 free throws made against Winthrop (Feb. 4). Spencer leads the Big South in scoring.
#25 Aaliyah Collins, Gr., Guard: Big South Defensive Player of the Year & Big South First Team All-Conference
Collins' defense fueled the Panthers through their dominant season. Playing in 27 games, and starting 22, Collins was a crucial piece for the Panthers this year. She leads the team in steals (65) and blocks (21). On the other side of the ball, Collins is a clear facilitator leading the team in assists (117). She also adds to the offense as the second-leading scorer on the team in field goals (164), free throws (63), and points (409), averaging 15.1 points per game.
#3 Nevaeh Zavala, Sr., Forward: Big South All-Conference Honorable Mention
Zavala played and started in all 27 games she appeared in. As a senior, she had an important role as a leader for this year's team in her fourth year as a Panther. Zavala was second on the team in minutes, averaging 29.3 minutes per game. She was also a leading scorer on the team, scoring 239 points, while shooting .500 from the field. She secured a double-double against Yale (Dec. 20) with 21 points and 14 rebounds. Zavala ended the season strong, scoring 24 points at Gardner-Webb (Feb. 21) to help the Panthers secure their third straight regular season title.
Snotherly played in all 29 games this season, making 23 starts. She averaged 5.6 points per game, shot .481 from the field, and totaled 49 assists. On the other side of the ball, she secured 133 rebounds, averaging 4.6 rebounds per game.
