BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. — The High Point University women's basketball team had a dominant 83-53 victory over the Gardner-Webb Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon. The victory secured the Panthers' third straight Big South Conference regular-season title and sixth overall in program history.

Head Coach Chelsea Banbury: "I am really proud of how our girls showed up and played today. From the jump, they were ready to go. Had a bunch of energy made a lot of plays on the defensive end and executed our game plan on the offensive side of things."
The Panthers came out strong in the first quarter. High Point maintained even scoring throughout the first to gain a dominant 29-10 lead over Gardner-Webb.
Nevaeh Zavala led the Panthers offense in the second quarter. Zavala had a clean jumper, followed up by three three-pointers in a row.
Aaliyah Collins closed out the second with a coast-to-coast buzzer beating lay up for High Point to go into the locker room with a 20-point lead.
Macy Spencer started off the second half for the Panthers with a three-pointer. Spencer's shooting stayed hot through the remainder of the third.
Peyton Gerdes also shot well for High Point securing back-to-back three pointers.
Collins got the scoring started for High Point in the fourth.
Sky Donaie entered the game with a tough and-1 to make a three-point play for the Panthers.
Kenaya Klintman finished off the dominant victory for the Panthers with a deep three.
Zavala led High Point with 24 points on 10-of-14 shooting. Collins secured a double-double with 15 points and 11 assists, as well as three steals. Spencer finished with 15 points, four assists, two steals, and a block. High Point scored 18 fast-break points and finished with 28 points off turnovers.
