WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Atlantic 10 Conference announced the men's lacrosse players of the week on Monday afternoon, naming High Point University's
Carson Robins and
Luca Accardo to the selection. Robins was named the Offensive Player of the Week while Accardo was named the Defensive Player of the Week.
Robins helped fuel the Panthers offense over the weekend, leading to a 15-7 victory over No. 17 UMass to earn HPU's first ranked win of the season. On the attack, Robins produced four goals on just six shots to finish with a .667 shot percentage. This was Robins second game with four goals and his first Offensive Player of the Week award this season.
Accardo was a dynamite on the faceoff crew, setting the Panthers offense in a position to score throughout the game. His 22 faceoff wins tied his own program record which he set a season ago against Saint Joesph's. After going 22-25 at the X, he secured a game-high 16 ground balls and punched in a goal and an assist.
High Point will travel to Delaware on Saturday, March 21 for a 12:00 p.m. game.
