A10 Names Eight Panthers to Postseason Awards List

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference announced the 2025 men's lacrosse postseason awards on Wednesday afternoon. Eight players from the High Point University men's lacrosse team earned All-Conference awards and two players were named to the All-Academic team. This is the largest number of honorees from HPU since joining the A10 in 2023.
 
Luca Accardo (Face-off Midfielder) | Atlantic 10 First Team All-Conference
After leading the league from the faceoff X during the 2025 season, Accardo was named to the First Team All-Conference list for the first time in his career. He led the league in faceoff wins totaling 177 and went 177-293 for a .604 win percentage. Along with leading the league in faceoff wins, he also tallied the most ground balls with 125 to average 8.93 per game, dominating the league by 50+ ground balls. He ranked third overall in the NCAA in ground balls per game and sits second all-time in program history in a single-season, just five ground balls away from breaking Davis Sampere's record (2019 – 129 GBs). He registered a career-high 14 ground balls against Richmond (Apr. 12) which is the third most ground balls picked up in a single game in program history. Adding to his stats, he scored three goals including the game winner versus Hobart (Mar. 29).
 
Owen Bunten (Attack) | Atlantic 10 Second Team All-Conference & All-Rookie Team
In Bunten's rookie season with the Panthers, the redshirt freshman led High Point on the attack. Totaling 35 goals during the regular season to average 2.69 per game, he finished second in the A10 and 26th in the NCAA. He was the second-best offensive rookie in the country behind Saint Joseph's Ben Dutton. In his 13 games appeared in, he started in 12 and recorded his best games against Robert Morris (Feb. 15) and Jacksonville (Mar. 7), scoring a season-high five goals in each game. Overall he posted a .330 shot percentage taking 8.15 shots per game. Adding to his stats, Bunten picked up 15 ground balls and four caused turnovers during the season. He was named a four-time Rookie of the Week and opened the season earning the first three Rookie of the Week awards.
 
Zack Brenfleck (Defense) | Atlantic 10 Second Team All-Conference
Brenfleck was named to the Second Team All-Conference for the second consecutive season. He started all 14 games this season for the Panthers on defense and played a significant role on the back line taking on the opponent's best offensive player. Brenfleck picked up 23 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers. He collected a season-high four ground balls and two caused turnovers at St. Bonaventure (Apr. 26).
 
Ryan Hynes (Midfield) | Atlantic 10 Second Team All-Conference
As a junior in the midfield for the Panthers, Hynes produced 12 goals and nine assists during the season. One of his best games was against Robert Morris (Feb. 15), as he dished out a career-high seven assists with one goal for eight points against the Colonials. He registered a career-high four goals in HPU's upset over No 16 UMass (Apr. 5). Hynes picked up 10 ground balls and two caused turnovers during the season.
 
Collin Rovere (Midfield) | Atlantic 10 Second Team All-Conference
Rovere started in 10 of the 14 games appeared in as a midfielder for the Panthers. He led the midfield in goals and was second on the tea with 15 goals and 12 assists. His 27 points was good for third on the team and the most points scored in his career. He produced two three-goal games during the season at Virginia (Feb. 18) and at St. Bonaventure (Apr. 26). At Umass, Rovere dished out a career-high four assists helping the Panthers pick up the 14-9 win. He also added 20 ground balls, including four games with three ground balls.
 
Zack Overend (Goalie) | Atlantic 10 Second Team All-Conference
Overend the junior goalkeeper earned his first postseason honor as a Panther. Over the season he led the league in saves with 172 saves and finished third in the league with a .544 save percentage. During the week of April 21-April 27 he was named to the USILA team of the week for the first time in his career. And was also named the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week. He broke the HPU program record with 23 saves, helping the Panthers knock-off No. 14 Saint Joseph's for its second win over a ranked opponent during season. He surpassed Tim Troutner, Jr. (2019 alum) who set a program and SoCon Championship record with 22 saves versus Jacksonville in 2018. Along with his 23 saves, Overend registered a career-best .719 save percentage after facing 52 shots, 32 of which were on goal. His .719 save percentage ranks second all-time in program history in a single game (min. 10 saves). Overend became the fourth player in program history to be named to the USILA Team of the Week. Overend added 37 ground balls including a season-high five versus Robert Morris (Feb. 15).
 
Carson Robins (Attack) | Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team
Robins appeared in 12 games with nine starts as a freshman on attack. He tallied 13 goals and nine assists for 22 points. He registered two hat tricks during the season including one versus Queens (Mar. 11) and another one at UMass (Apr. 5). Along with his three goals at UMass he also dished out a season-high three assists for a season-high six points. Robins finished the season with a .619 shot percentage. He was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week on April 7.
 
James Westbrooks (Defense) | Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team
After not starting in the opening game of the season, Westbrooks moved to a starting role for the final 13 games of the season. As a rookie, Westbrooks dominated for the Panthers on defense leading the team in caused turnovers with 15 to finish sixth in the A10. He picked up a season-high three caused turnovers in the win over Hobart (Mar. 29). Westbrooks also added 11 ground balls.
 
Colin Cooke (Midfield) | Atlantic 10 All-Academic
The graduate student from Linwood, N.J. has a 3.94 GPA while working on his master's in communications and business leadership. Cooke started in 10 of the 14 games appeared in and totaled eight goals and six assists for 14 points. He scored a season-high two goals at VMI and handed out a season-high two assists at Georgetown. Cooke also added 11 ground balls during the season.
 
Jack McAdams (Defense) | Atlantic 10 All-Academic
As a junior, McAdams posted a 3.92 GPA in Finance during the 2024-25 academic year. On defense, he appeared in 12 games and totaled seven ground balls and four caused turnovers. He registered a career-high three ground balls versus Saint Joseph's (Apr. 19).
 
High Point will begin Atlantic 10 Tournament play with a matchup against No. 17 Saint Joseph's University. The No. 2-seed Panthers and the No. 3-seed Hawks face-off in the semifinal round of the tournament on Thursday, May 1 at 2:00 p.m. at the host site, Saint Joseph's, on Sweeney Field.
