HPU Head Coach Todd Eckstein: "The Pfau Course at Indiana is going to be yet another very challenging golf course for our team this spring. I think the slate of very tough golf courses is going to help us be battle-tested come the Big South Championships. Our guys should go up there and play with confidence. With some of the results this spring, I'm excited to see what they do and utilize some lessons that learned earlier this year going to play some golf in the Midwest."

The Hoosier Intercollegiate will pose quite the challenge to the Panthers; however, last week's T1 finish at the Sweetens Cove Match Play tournament has given the team confidence according to junior Charlie Barr

"Last week's T1 finish at the Sweetens Cove Intercollegiate was a big confidence boost for our team because we beat two teams ranked much higher than us," Barr said. "Our conference championship is match play after 36 holes of stroke play, so to win the match play event last week gives us a lot of confidence that we will take into the Hoosier Intercollegiate."

Indiana has packed the Hoosier Intercollegiate with fellow Big Ten conference teams such as the University of Michigan, Michigan State University, and Northwestern University, along with Atlantic Coast Conference's Notre Dame. Despite going up against five Power 5 teams, Barr remains confident in his team's abilities to compete.

"Everyone on our team was competitive enough in junior golf where we constantly ran into competition who were ranked higher than us," Barr said. "Golf is a sport where any given day can be our day and we can be competitive with anyone. Especially at a long golf course where our top five guys playing this week do not lack in the distance department."

Gregor Meyer will hold the one spot at the Hoosier Intercollegiate, followed by Grady Newton, Fred Roberts IV, Barr, and Miller Carr

Barr's confidence in his team's competitive abilities is inspiring, but the Panthers will be challenged not just by the teams in attendance, but also by the weather predicted for the tournament. Barr however, remains confident in his team, once again drawing from experiences at Sweetens Cove to remain competitive in the face of challenges.

"After last weekend at the Sweetens Cove Intercollegiate, we ran into some wind and course conditions that were borderline unfair," Barr said. "The reason that we were successful is because we survived longer than the other teams and made sure to play within ourselves rather than change our process. This week at the Hoosier Intercollegiate will look very similar because of the projected snow on the forecast the day before, as well as frigid temperatures. We are going to stick to our process and see how that shakes out against a solid field."
