Hassell, Smith Named to Sapona All-Tournament Team

LEXINGTON, N.C. — Four individuals from the High Point University men's golf team competed in the Sapona Intercollegiate on Friday and Saturday at the Sapona Country Club in Lexington, N.C. James Hassell led the way for the Panthers, shooting even over the course of the two-day tournament, while Jay Smith finished tied for fifth place as the two Panthers made the All-Tournament Team.

Head Coach Logan Davis: "It's always good getting the team extra tournament reps in and staying competitive. I saw a lot of good stuff this week out of everyone individually. Congrats to James [Hassell] and Jay [Smith] on a T-3 and T-5 finish this week! We are starting to see our hard work pay off. The course was super tricky off the tee but we made a game plan together and they stuck to it which can be difficult at times but that's showing the discipline we have as a team. Looking forward for what's to come for everyone the rest of the spring."
