Head Coach Lyndsey Boswell: "This weekend we celebrated our fabulous seniors. Each of them have left their mark on the field, but what I'm most proud of is the legacy they left in the locker room. These girls are wonderful people who are going to do amazing things in the next phase of their lives. Another big team win today. I love how we started the game, dominating every facet. We were able to get everyone on the field, and I'm really happy to see each of them step up."
The Panthers' offense has been elite and it kept churning on Saturday.
Jordan Miles netted a first-quarter hat trick to lead a seven-goal frame, while Rosselli,
Mandy Brockamp,
Allie Connally and
Esprit Cha all contributed one.
Shannon Smith opened the second quarter with a goal, while
Reese Dowgiallo, Connally, Rosselli and Brockamp scored and Miles netted her fifth first-half goal on a perfect shooting percentage.
Just before heading into the half, Rosselli won her 100th career draw control, needing four to reach the feat as the senior recorded six on the day. Miles had a team-high eight draw controls. Defensively,
Sydney Martin had a career day with a career-high five ground balls and four caused turnovers.
Esprit Cha opened the third quarter with back-to-back goals to secure a hat trick, while Brockamp followed with her third goal and her first hat trick this season.
Kierstin Hillis scored the fourth quarter's first HPU goal followed by Rosselli's third that she created after causing a turnover.
"This whole season we have carried the theme of playing for something bigger than yourself and outside of this team, so that's something we were able to implement even more today, " Sosebee said.
Sarah Johnson netted her first collegiate goal in the final two minutes to cap the Panthers' fourth straight 20-goal outing on Senior Day. Johnson is the fourth freshman to score this season.
"Being able to go out there and produce for everyone was a very cool experience today," Tingley said. "It's never taking our foot off the pedal. We know what we want at the end of this and every day is a new chance to get better. In practice, we are focusing through every rep whether it's in walk-through or anything. You know, going all out, and not settling."
HPU was able to play every player for the second straight game that saw 12 goals assisted. Cavallaro, Rosselli, Dowgiallo, Connally all had multi-assist days and Cha, Miles,
Tatum Goettelmann and Sosebee added one.
