SPARTANBURG, S.C. — In what was a back-and-forth game, the High Point University women's lacrosse team found a 4-0 run over the final 10 minutes to keep a lead Wofford College couldn't reach and secure the Panthers' fifth straight Big South Conference win on Wednesday, 17-14.
The victory kept HPU undefeated against the Terriers all-time, 3-0.

The Panthers' faith never wavered. Trailing for the first time in five games, HPU kept finding answers when the Terriers responded. That was until the fourth quarter when
Esprit Cha tied the game at 14-all via an assist from
Kay Rosselli.

Ava Welsh came up with a huge save, and then the defense silenced Wofford the rest of the way.
Pia Cavallaro, who netted her second hat trick in the past three games, scored the game-winning goal at the four-minute mark to give the Panthers a lead they would never lose.
Mandy Brockamp added onto the advantage with a free-position goal before Cavallaro closed the door shut with another to cap the 17-14 win.
Eight different scorers contributed in the win as the team's leading scorer
Jordan Miles kept the Panthers in the fight all night. She netted a career-high five goals and won eight draw controls to set the tone, while Cha netted a hat trick alike Cavallaro.
Reese Dowgiallo was a major factor with a career-high three assists, while Cha and
Kay Rosselli had yet another multi-assist game.
Shannon Smith scored a stellar goal in the first half that saw the sophomore spin into a wide-open goal, while Miles had yet another behind-the-back goal that has become a normal sight.
Aryss Lindsey was a factor on defense, causing four turnovers and picking up three ground balls while
Joy Coffey had a career-high 10 saves in the first half alone. Welsh played the second half and had a pair of saves.
