HIGH POINT, N.C. — High Point University Women's Lacrosse Head Coach Lyndsey Boswell has been announced as one of six inductees named to the Anne Arundel County Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2026.
 
Boswell joins Brian Burlace, Harry Dobson, Pat Owen, Bill Wagner and John Spinnenweber as the members of the Class of 2026. The honorees will be formally enshrined at the 35th annual Anne Arundel County Sports Hall of Fame induction banquet on Nov. 12.
 
"I am incredibly honored and humbled to be inducted into the Anne Arundel County Hall of Fame," Boswell said. "When I look back, I'm most grateful for my family and the coaches and teammates and players who pushed me, believed in me, and gave me the confidence to live out my dreams. I'm equally grateful for the players I've coached and the coaches I've coached alongside, who have taught me so much along the way. This honor is a reflection of those relationships and experiences. I'm proud to have grown up in South County, grateful to still call it home, and I look forward to celebrating back at home this fall."
 
Boswell is being inducted for her accomplishments as both a women's lacrosse player and coach. The Friendship native was a standout at Pfeiffer University after being a two-sport athlete (basketball, lacrosse) at Southern High School. As a lacrosse player, she was named first-team All-County by both the Arundel Sun and Capital Gazette.
 
As an attacker for Pfeiffer University, Boswell earned two first-team All-American selections at the Division II level. As a senior in 2004, she was named Conference Carolinas Player of the Year. Boswell remains the program's all-time leader in points, 295, and goals, 190. For her efforts, she was inducted in the Pfeiffer Hall of Fame in 2013.
 
Since being hired as the HPU women's lacrosse's inaugural coach in 2009, Boswell has been the architect of the Panthers' swift rise to a championship-winning league power.
 
Boswell has coached 102 All-Conference honorees, 21 Players of the Year, four All-Americans, two All-Region players and a pair of Tewaaraton Award watch list standouts, while winning 13 Big South Conference Championships and being the first HPU team in the school's history to win a NCAA Tournament game in 2017.
 
Under Boswell's tutelage, the Panthers have compiled a 184-104 (.639) record, including an 87-10 mark in Big South regular season play and 20-7 in tournament play. The program's first and only coach has been named the Big South Coach of the Year seven times in her career.
 
Boswell has led the Panthers to 13 conference championships— highlighted by four straight regular-season and tournament sweeps from 2017 to 2022 — while guiding HPU to six NCAA Tournament appearances in 2013, 2014, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2021.
 
Coach Boswell is the winningest coach in the Big South Conference with 184 wins as HPU's leader. She has the most Big South Tournament titles and NCAA Tournament appearances among active Big South head coaches with six each.
 
Before the Big South added women's lacrosse as a sport in 2013, Boswell began her dominance with the most wins (15) by a first-year Division I program and won the National Lacrosse Conference (NLC) Tournament. The Panthers defeated top-seed Jacksonville in overtime in the championship game — after a 6-1 inaugural regular-season. In 2012, HPU played to a perfect 7-0 regular season and finished runner-up in the championship game. 
 
Boswell built on the NLC success once the Big South was formed, quickly claiming dominance in the league and winning the first-ever Big South Tournament title in 2013. In the following year, the Panthers earned their first of five regular-season and tournament trophy sweeps over a seven-year span.
 
In 2017, Boswell continued to lead her dynasty with two more trophies and earning the program and school's first NCAA Tournament win with a 21-15 victory over No. 18 Towson.
 
HPU extended its conference unbeaten streak to 26 games in 2019 en route to its third straight Big South regular season and tournament championships. From 2017-2019, the Panthers went 48-12 and undefeated against conference competition on the way to Big South regular season and tournament championships in all three seasons.
 
In 2018, Boswell guided the Panthers to a school-record 17 wins, including a school-record tying 16 consecutive wins. The Panthers were tabbed as high at No. 16 in the national rankings, the best mark of any HPU program at the time.
 
The 2018 team had both of the program's All-Region, All-American and Tewaaraton Award Watch List honorees in Erica Perrotta and Abby Hormes. Perrotta was the program's first to receive national honors, and then Hormes developed into the most decorated player in program and Big South history en route to becoming the best goal scorer the Panthers, Big South and NCAA had ever seen.
 
Boswell began her coaching career at St. Andrews, where she improved the win total each year, before coming to High Point in 2009. She won her 200th career game in the 2025 Big South Semifinal as she has advanced to 11 conference finals of 13 seasons in the league.
