The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its 2024 Division I Blatant Lacrosse Team of the Week accolades on Tuesday, Feb. 20. Ten players earned recognition from their organizations as High Point's
Brayden Mayea was selected after an exceptional performance this past week.

High Point picked up two wins over the weekend over VMI (19-9) and Queens (17-8), both led by the senior attacker. On Friday in front of the home crowd, Mayea produced a record-breaking career night with eight goals and 11 points to break both single-game program records. The previous records were set in 2019 and 2021 by Chris Young with seven goals against UMBC and Asher Nolting with 10 points at VMI. He rounded out the night picking up two ground balls.

On Sunday in the win over Queens, Mayea led the day with four goals, securing his third hat trick of the season, to go along with a career-high five assists. His second goal of the game landed on SportsCenter Top10 Monday morning showing off his around-the-world shot. Â Â

Overall, Mayea totaled 20 points on 12 goals and eight assists in the Panthers two wins.

Mayea currently leads NCAA Division I lacrosse in total goals with 17 and is ranked 7
th in goals per game with 4.25.

High Point remains on the road with a trip to Cleveland State University on Saturday February 24
th. Face-off is set for 12:00 p.m.
