GREENSBORO, N.C. — High Point University hosted the inaugural Qubein Cup at Sedgefield Country Club, where 13 teams competed in the 54-hole tournament Monday and Tuesday. For the Panthers,
Burch Harrison stood out as the top finisher with his best performance this fall through two windy days on the course among elite college golfers.
Head Coach Logan Davis: "The inaugural Qubein Cup definitely lived up to all expectations. A very strong field, coupled with a first-class venue proved very challenging for all competitors. Sedgefield Country Club was in amazing shape. Fast greens and very thick rough, tested all competitors' skills and patience. We are so thankful to Sedgefield Country Club for allowing us to host our home event at such an amazing venue. We had many compliments from coaches and spectators, commenting how well the tournament was run. I am grateful to have a very supportive group in the HPU Athletics Department, who volunteered their time to make this tournament a success. We expect the future Qubein Cups will continue to draw some of the elite college golf programs. I also would like to thank the staff and membership at Sedgefield Country Club who helped with this successful tournament."
