High Point faced some tough competition Tuesday on the par 71 course. Newton held his own in the field of 61 golfers, remaining steady through both rounds of 18. He started the day off even before shooting one-under through five holes. Notching one-over by the mid-way point, his only double bogey of the day placed him three-over with one hole to go in round one. Making up for it, a birdie carded him a two-over 73 following the first round.

Similar to the first 18, Newton stayed one-over through majority of play. A tough hole No. 5 shot him four-over before finishing with a three-over 74.

Falling just one place below Newton, Barr and Harrison tied for 27th. Barr had consistency through the two rounds, carding identical three-over par 74s in both rounds. In the final round, he carded 11 pars and two birdies, with seven of the 11 pars being consecutive.

Harrison bumped up three places in the leaderboards following the second and final round of the day. His 14 even pars and birdie helped him card a +2, 73, registering the lowest single round score for the day, along with Newton, from the Panther squad.

Dominating the field with home course advantage, N.C. State had four team members finish in the top 10 while Duke also had four place in the top 10. Duke took the tournament with an impressive 21-under 547 score.
