MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — The High Point University men's golf team traveled to Myrtle Beach, S.C., to compete in the team's first tournament of the season, which concluded on Tuesday afternoon at the Grande Dunes Golf Resort. Carter Pitcairn finished eighth individually, while the Panthers placed 13th overall at the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate.
Head Coach Logan Davis: "First tournament of the season is in the books. We started out with a solid first round as a team. The second and third rounds the wind picked up and made the course play a bit more difficult than the first round. We were able to identify as a team where our games needed some improvement after two difficult rounds. Carter and Burch both played great golf through all three rounds. While we didn't finish on the leaderboard where we wanted to we will get back to it this week and improve. Lots of positives we can take as a team and grow from this as a whole. I'm looking forward to getting back to work and on to Destin."
