Men's Golf Splits Into Two Events This Week

Men's golf will have participants in two different events this week. Five members of the team will be headed to Pawley's Island, S.C. for the Golfweek/Any Given Tuesday Intercollegiate. The remaining four members of the roster will be competing individually at the Aggie Invitational, hosted by North Carolina A&T.

The Field
The 18-team field includes Wichita State, Austin Peay State, Jacksonville State, Connecticut, Southern Illinois, Central Arkansas, Troy, Loyola Chicago, Northern Colorado, Marshall, Valparaiso, Evansville, Winthrop, Delaware, Ohio, Western Illinois, and Xavier.
 
The Format
The 54-hole tournament will be spread out in three days with 18 holes being played each day. There will standard tee times with players teeing off on holes 1 and 10.
 
True Blue Golf Course
Annually ranked in golf digest's "top 100," True Blue offers several golf options for all kinds of players. The Mike Strantz design is known for its vast fairways, undulating greens, and impressive elevation changes. For the tournament, the golf course will play as a par-72 with a length of 6989 yards.

The Format
54 holes will be played over two days. 36 holes will be played on Monday with the final 18 holes to be played on Tuesday. There will be shotgun starts on both days at 8:30 A.M.
 
Bryan Park – Champions Course
Designed by Rees Jones, this golf course opened in 1990. The layout features 97 sand traps and numerous grass bunkers and hollows. The fairways and greens are made with Bermuda grass. Gold Digest had ranked this course the #3 course in the state of North Carolina. From the back tees, the course plays at a par-72 with a length of 7255 yards.

Last Time Out
The Panthers finished ninth at the Sea Palms Invitational on the week of March 11. Gregor Meyer led the team in scoring while Grady Newton carded 15 birdies, ninth most in the tournament.
