Starting in the 2022-23 season, High Point University men's lacrosse will be joining the Atlantic 10 as the conference will be adding men's lacrosse as its 22nd sport. HPU and Hobart will be joining A-10 institutions UMASS, Richmond, St. Bonaventure, and Saint Joseph's making up a six-team league fulfilling the NCAA requirement for an automatic bid for postseason eligibility.
HPU will be reunited with former SoCon foe Richmond. High Point and Hobart join the A10 exclusively for men's lacrosse as affiliate members of the Atlantic 10.
Atlantic 10 Commissioner Bernadette V. McGlade: "Adding men's lacrosse to the portfolio of Atlantic 10 sponsored sports provides a home for our four full-time members, who have requested this for several years. Welcoming both High Point and Hobart College as affiliate members rounds out a strong collection of teams that have been nationally competitive, playing in the NCAA postseason multiple times, with multiple national championship appearances."
