High Point women's lacrosse will return to Vert Stadium for the first time after a five-game road trip as they host #2 UNC on Wednesday (Mar. 23). First draw is set for 5 pm.

Hormes Makes Weekly Honors
Hormes led the way with six goals on the night with five of them coming in the first half alone. Hormes finished with an impressive stat line of six goals, two assists, and nine draw controls in the win over Elon. This is Hormes' second time this season earning Big South honors.
Hormes Holding It Down
Abby Hormes is ninth in NCAA Division I active career leaders for points per game (4.50), fifth in goals (230), and eighth in goals per game (3.38).
Hormes holds High Point records for goals (230), points (306), shots (423), shots on goal (324), and is tied for third for game-winning goals (8). For each HPU record she holds, Hormes completed the feat in the fewest games played (68).
The Chase for Seven
HPU owns the title to the past four Big South Tournament Championships (2017, 2018, 2019, 2021) after the 2020 Tournament was canceled due to COVID-19. High Point has also been the regular season Big South champion in each of the past four seasons. In the eight years of the conference championships, the Panthers have claimed five regular season titles and six tournament titles.
Kraft and Hormes Earn Preseason Recognition
Jenna Kraft and Hormes were named to the 2022 Big South Preseason All-Conference Team. Kraft earned her first preseason nod after forcing 26 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers last season.
Hormes Named Preseason Player of the Year
Abby Hormes was named the Big South's Preseason Offensive Player of the Year for the fourth straight season after a stellar senior campaign. Hormes recorded 98 points (76g, 22a), 16 caused turnovers, and 32 ground balls in 2021.

High Point was voted as the top-Big South team in the 2022 preseason poll. HPU garnered nine first place votes and 99 total points.
