Greensboro, N.C.- The High Point men's golf team finished its fall schedule today at the Grandover Intercollegiate. High Point finished eighth out of the 16 teams in the field, shooting a 7-over par 871. After winning Big South freshman of the week last week,
Burch Harrison followed it up with a 1-under par 215 for the tournament. Harrison carded the best round of his career on Sunday, shooting a 3-under par 69. After a triple bogey on the par-four ninth hole put him at two over par for the day, Harrison moved below par on the back nine with three birdies and one eagle. He finished his round eagle-birdie-par to finish in a tie for 15th.
Harrison's eagle on the par-5 16th hole propelled the Panthers to fourth in par five scoring as a team.
Gregor Meyer carded an eagle on the par-5 sixth hole in round one, as part of an opening round 68. Meyer finished right behind Harrison on the leaderboard shooting an even par 216.
Alan Smith had birdies on the second hole and the sixth hole on the final day.
Charlie Barr and
Alan Smith each carded two birdies on par five's on the final day of play.
