Einstein Named All-Region by GCAA

NORMAN, Okla. -- High Point University men's golfer Brandon Einstein was named a Division I PING All-Region golfer in the East Region by the Golf Coaches Association of America this past weekend (May 29).

Einstein completed one of the most successful seasons in program history with a 24th-place finish at the NCAA Regionals in May and is the first golfer on either the men's or women's side to be named an All-Region golfer in High Point's Division I history.

His tie for 24th place at the regional at one-over with 214 total strokes set three program records for NCAA Regional appearances. He finished one shot better, both total and to-par, than HPU's first regional appearance in 2018 from Brendan MacDougall, who finished in a share of 47th place with a two-over 215.

Einstein finished the year with a scoring average of 70.96 to be the only student-athlete in HPU golf history to average sub-71 in a single season. He totaled three wins on the season to tie for the most individual wins in a single year in program history and is one away from matching the program record of four career wins. His winning score of 208 at the Old Corkscrew Intercollegiate is tied for the eighth-lowest 54-hole score in program history and was one of just 13 sub-210 tournaments in team history. With Einstein's 70 in the second round of the NCAA Regionals, he finished the year with 18 rounds of par or better in 2021 for the most of any HPU golfer in a single season.
