The High Point University men's lacrosse team will be returning to Vert Stadium for the first time in 11 months as they take on Robert Morris on Saturday at 12 p.m. 

Matchup History

• The teams have split the previous 6 meetings, each side taking 3 games 
• In 2020, the Panthers fell to Robert Morris by a score of 15-11.
• In 2019, the last Panthers win was a thrilling 16-15 win over the Colonials in Vert Stadium. Hunter Vines ended the game with a goal in the second overtime to lift HPU to the victory. 

Panther Notes

• Coach Jon Torpey is entering his tenth season as the head coach of the Panthers.
• The Panthers have been picked to finish second in the 2021 SoCon Preseason Poll. HPU 
• Asher Nolting and Colin Clothier were both named to the 2021 Preseason All-Conference team. This is Nolting's third SoCon nod and Clothier's First SoCon honor. Nolting also earned national attention this offseason earning Inside Lacrosse and USILA All-American preseason honors leading up to the 2021 season.
• Davis Sampere, Dalton Sulver, Sean Coughlin, Taylor Acra, Hayden Baker, Colin Clothier, Clayton Krol, Asher Nolting, and Tyler Stinson will all be leading the Panthers this year as team captains.
• In September of the offseason Sulver was selected 76th overall in the fifth round by the Buffalo Bandits in the 2020 National Lacrosse League (NLL) Draft Thursday evening (September 18). He became the fifth High Point player to be selected in the NLL Draft. 
• In the offseason, coach Torpey promoted Coach Ken Broschart to associate head coach. Broschart has also been named to the U18 Iroquois Nationals coaching staff as an assistant. 

Across the Bench

• Robert Morris finished the 2020 season with a 4-2 record before the season came to an end due to covid-19.
• Robert Morris is coming off a 16-12 loss to #1 Duke last weekend. This will be RMU's second game of the season and HPU's opener. 
• Head Coach Andrew McMinn is entering his tenth season as head coach of the Colonials. McMinn is the program's all-time win leader as he enters the 2021 season with 69 wins.  
• Joining McMinn on the coaching staff will be assistant coach Brandon Mangan as he enters his third season on the Colonials staff along with assistant coach Sean Doyle who is entering his second season.
