HIGH POINT, N.C.-- High Point University women's lacrosse Head Coach Lyndsey Boswell announced the 2022 schedule on Tuesday, November 2nd. The defending Big South Champion five years running, Panthers will play 17 games this season, 8 non-conference games, and a full nine-game Big South slate featuring contests against the Big South's three newest members for women's lacrosse Furman, Mercer, and Wofford. HPU will host only two of its non-conference games both contests come against ACC opponents in Duke and North Carolina. It will be the first time since 2018 while hosting multiple ACC contests. HPU will host four Big South games making for six home games in Vert Stadium for the 2022 women's lacrosse season.

Coach Boswell on the 2022 campaign: "We just finished up a challenging fall slate in order to be prepared for some of the toughest competition in Division I lacrosse. We are excited to welcome three new teams to our conference and play some of the best outside of our conference. We are excited to see what 2022 has in store for our players."

The first three contests of the season are rematches from a season ago. On Saturday, February 12th HPU opens the season in Davidson against the Wildcats. HPU and Davidson went to overtime a season ago where the Wildcats were able to pick up the win on a goal in OT. Duke will travel to HPU for the first time since 2019 on Sunday, February 20th. HPU will play the Blue Devils for the fifth time in program history. 

On Saturday, February 26th the Panthers head back to Harrisonburg, Va. for the second straight season where they will face the Dukes of James Madison. Last season against JMU, High Point played the Dukes to a dramatic finish amongst a flurry of unexpected snowfall. 

Wednesday, March 2nd HPU will play Michigan in a neutral site contest at the US Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks Glencoe, Maryland. It will mark the first meeting between HPU and the Wolverines since 2017 where the Panthers defeated Michigan 13-12 on the road in the Big House. HPU will then turn around on Saturday, March 5th, and take on 2021 NCAA Tournament participant Mount St. Mary's. 

On Wednesday, March 16th HPU makes the short trip to Burlington to face Elon. On Wednesday, March 23rd, HPU welcomes UNC back to Vert Stadium. This will be the seventh straight season the Tarheels and Panthers have met. 

HPU tangles with a former Big South foe on Saturday, March 26th as the Panthers face Liberty. HPU will take on Liberty in Lynchburg. 

On Wednesday, March 30th Big South play begins as Campbell travels to Vert Stadium. On April 2nd, HPU will get its first look at Wofford as a member of the Big South. The following Wednesday HPU travels back to South Carolina to face Winthrop on April 6th. On Saturday, April 19th, the Blue Hose of Presbyterian travel to Vert. 

On Wednesday, April 13th HPU welcomes Longwood to complete a two-game homestand. HPU finds itself back on the road on Saturday, April 16th, and Wednesday, April 20th with games against Radford and Furman. HPU's last regular-season home game comes against a new Big South member for women's lacrosse in Mercer on Saturday, April 23rd. HPU wraps up the regular season against Gardner Webb on the road on Wednesday, April 27th. 

The Big South Tournament starts on April 30th and will conclude with the Big South Championship game on May 8th.
