High Point University baseball head coach Craig Cozart notched his 100th career victory as a head coach on this day in 2012 with a victory over the Charlotte 49ers. High Point scored one in the top of the first but then gave up five in the bottom half of the inning. The Panthers fought back in the middle innings, getting two back in the fifth and the sixth to tie it up. The seventh inning was big for HPU as the Purple and White took the lead with a four-run inning, taking advantage of a pair of 49er errors. High Point's pitching staff blanked Charlotte in the final eight innings and allowed just six hits over the final eight frames to secure the 9-5 victory and improve to 20-11 on the season.
