Panthers and Highlanders Meet for Weekend Series

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University baseball team is set to host Radford University for a three-game weekend series, with the final game airing on ESPNU.

The 15-14 Radford Highlanders will visit the 22-10 High Point Panthers for a three-game series beginning Friday, April 10 at 6:00 p.m. at Williard Stadium. High Point is celebrating Alumni Weekend, kicking things off with a golf outing Friday morning followed by a full slate of weekend festivities.

"We are excited to prepare for what is expected to be a historic Alumni Weekend at Williard Stadium," Head Coach Joey Hammond said. "The weather looks great as we welcome back many alumni to enjoy the weekend festivities. From our alumni golf outing to the tailgate and alumni game, and wrapping everything up with a nationally televised matchup, we've got you covered as we aim to break the all-time attendance record on Sunday."

High Point enters the weekend following a series win at College of Charleston and a midweek walk-off victory over North Carolina A&T. Radford comes to town after securing a series win over USC Upstate and a midweek victory against ETSU.

Offensively, the Panthers have relied on a balanced lineup that continues to produce in key moments. Seojun Oh leads the High Point offense with a .363/.397/.655 slash line, while contributions throughout the order have allowed the Panthers to remain competitive at the plate and string together quality at-bats.

On the mound, High Point's pitching staff has been a major strength. The weekend rotation has delivered consistent quality starts, while the bullpen has provided stability in late-game situations. Strong strikeout numbers and an ability to limit free passes have helped the Panthers control the pace of games.

"It's a really cool experience and opportunity to have all the guys you played with last year, and the guys before my time to come back and show support," Sophomore infielder Jace Kohler said. "It brings good energy and good vibes, and it even helps us guys in the dugout. I'm also super excited for the ESPNU game on Sunday which is going to be an awesome experience. You get to tell all your family and friends that we're going to be on national television. We get to go out there and prove why we should be on national television. It's going to be fun and I'm excited."

High Point and Radford last met for a weekend series in late March of last season, when the Panthers swept the Highlanders on the road, scoring 57 total runs across three games. High Point leads the all-time series 47-37 and enters the weekend riding a nine-game win streak over Radford.

This weekend also marks the second time in two seasons that High Point will be featured on ESPNU, following last year's matchup against USC Upstate.

First pitch for the weekend is set for Friday, April 10 at 6:00 p.m. Game two is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. start, while the series finale will begin at 3:00 p.m. on ESPNU. Games one and two will be streamed on ESPN+.
