The High Point University men's lacrosse team (2-5) travels to Maryland for the third time this season. High Point heads up to Baltimore to face UMBC (3-1) on Saturday (March 7) following a 13-8 win against St. Bonaventure.

- High Point leads the all-time series against the Retrievers 2-1.Â
- HPU last played the Retrievers a season ago, the Panthers were victorious over UMBC 22-13 which set a new program record for the most goals HPU had ever scored in a single game. 12 different players scored in the win for High Point. Chris Young set a program record as he scored seven goals in the win. Ben Baker scored four goals and had an assist to end his day with five points. Asher Nolting had two goals and five assists finishing up with seven points on the day.
 Panther Notes
- Devon Buckshot was selected as the SOCON offensive player of the week. From Tuesday (Feb. 25) to Tuesday (March 3) Buckshot scored nine goals throughout three games.
- Buckshot's last week of nine goals has now tied him for the team lead in scoring with Tyler Hendrycks with 11 goals on the season.
- Junior Taylor Acra led the Panthers in scoring against St. Bonaventure when he scored a career-high three goals.Â
- Defenseman Chris Price put together a very impressive stat line on Monday night he had one goal, an assist, one groundball, and a caused turnover.Â
- Last time out Nolting led the Panthers in points with five against the Bonnies, as the junior added one goal and four assists. Nolting now has 31 points on the season.
- Nolting finished with five points against SBU. Nolting has recorded a point in every game he played in at HPU (37 games). His 37-game streak ranks 11th in the nation. He has 189 points during this steak. He is also currently on a 21-game goal streak with 54 goals scored during this stretch which is ranked ninth in the nation. Nolting is the SOCON's active leader in points.
- Jake Schleppy recorded a season-high four points against Robert Morris last Saturday, the senior had one goal and three assists.
- High Point just finished up a busy stretch of three games in a calendar week. HPU was set for another packed week with its game against the Bonnies on Monday and then a game against UMBC on the road on Saturday (March 7th). Â
- Nolting was selected to the Tewaaraton watch list for the third year in a row. The only Panther to be selected three times to the Tewaaraton watch list is Dan Lomas. Three Panthers have received this honor that list includes Nolting, Lomas, and Tim Troutner Jr.Â
- HPU is first in the SOCON in man-up goals with 16 on the season. The Panthers are averaging 3 man-up goals per contest. Â
- According to NCAA Strength of Schedule, HPU has the 14th toughest schedule in the nation this season.
High Point's roster features players from 21 states and provinces which is tied for second for most states and provinces represented in all of Division I lacrosse. This list includes California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Ontario, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Vermont.Â

- UMBC is 3-1 on the season with wins over Mount St. Mary's, Sacred Heart, and Towson.  Â
- Trevor Patschorke leads the Retrievers in scoring with seven goals on the season. Patschorke also has a team-best six assists on the year, he leads the team in points with 13.Â
- Ryan Moran enters his fourth season as the head coach of UMBC.Â
