The High Point University women's basketball team (8-10, 6-3 Big South) heads back on the road to face Gardner-Webb (9-9, 4-5 Big South) Tuesday evening (Jan. 28). The Panthers are currently riding a four-game win streak, most recently defeating Hampton on the road on Saturday (Jan. 25).

- High Point won its fourth consecutive game on Saturday afternoon with a 81-77 road victory at Hampton. The Panthers have now won their last three road games.
- Sophomore Skyler Curran is coming off her fifth-straight double-digit performance on Saturday with a 28-point performance. Curran scored 20 of her 28 in the first half, the second time this season a Panther has scored 20 points in a single half.
- Curran was named Big South Player of the Week as well as College Sports Madness Player of the Week for the Big South after averaging a double-double with 25.5 points and 10 rebounds in two games last week.
- Zaria Wright scored in double digits for the third game in a row and sixth time this season. The redshirt sophomore scored 18 points against the Pirates, going 4-6 from behind the three-point line.
- Senior Camryn Brown moved into ninth place on the Panthers' Division I scoring list against Hampton with 1,065 career points.
- HPU is 6-1 in 2020 and has scored 60 or more points in all seven games in the new year, scoring more than 80 three times. The Purple and White have shot above 40% in all but two games since Jan. 1.
- Curran's scoring outburst over the last three games has moved her scoring average up to 17.8 points per game, the most in the Big South.
- High Point is closing in on its single-season record for three-point makes and attempts, entering the game with 179 makes and 592 attempts. The Panthers are 21 makes away from becoming the first team in program history to make 200 triples in a season and 22 attempts shy from setting a new record of 614 attempts from behind the arc.

- Gardner-Webb is 9-9 on the year and 4-5 in conference play. The Runnin' Bulldogs most recently lost to Radford 84-73 on Saturday, but defeated UNC Asheville and USC Upstate before the loss.
- GWU is one of the best free throw shooting teams in the country, connecting on 75.4% of its attempts from the line, the 29th-best percentage in Division I.
- The Runnin' Bulldogs are also one of the best teams in the nation at forcing turnovers, getting opponents to commit an average of 21.5 turnovers per game, the 15th-best mark in the country. Their turnover margin of +4.39 also leads the Big South and is 35th in D1.
- The Runnin' Bulldogs are led in scoring by the Plentovich twins, with Carley Plentovich leading the way with an average of 14.0 points per game and Savannah Plentovich sitting second with an average of 11.9 PPG.
- Carley leads the conference in free throw percentage, sinking 85.9% of her shots from the foul line, the 26th-most successful shooter from the stripe in the country. She also leads her team behind the arc, with a connection rate of 38.0% while her sister Savannah is second with a shooting percentage of 35.0%.
- Jhessyka Williams and Gabrielle Caponegro lead Gardner-Webb's rebounding efforts, with both players averaging over five rebounds per game. Williams leads the way with an average of 5.5 RPG and Caponegro is right behind her with an average of 5.4.
Up Next: High Point returns home to the Millis Center on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 1) to host Winthrop to start the second half of the conference schedule. The Panthers will play two home games in a row for just the third time this season after that, hosting Hampton on Feb. 4 in a rematch of Saturday's game.
