HIGH POINT, N.C. – The No. 11 High Point University men's lacrosse team will host Jacksonville for the semifinals of the Southern Conference (SoCon) Men's Lacrosse Championship on Thursday, May 2. The opening face-off is set for 5:30 p.m. at Vert Stadium.

The Panthers are coming off a win over Richmond, while the Dolphins beat Mercer last week.

All-Time Series with Jacksonville
• The Panthers lead the series over the Dolphins 6-3. Jacksonville took a 12-10 win over High Point on March 23 this season.

All-Time Postseason Series with Jacksonville
• Last season, JU beat HPU, 11-12 (OT), in the 2018 SoCon Semifinals. The Panthers took a 12-11 win over the Dolphins in the 2014 Atlantic Sun Semifinals.

Asher Nolting was named SoCon Offensive Player of the Year for the second-straight year on April 30.

• Nolting is fifth in the NCAA in points per game at 5.93 and assists per game at 3.07.He leads the SoCon in both categories and ranks third in goals per game at 2.86.

• The Greenwood Village, Colo., native broke the SoCon and HPU single-season points record with his 67th point of season. He currently has 83 points (40G, 43A).

•Nolting was named one of the 25 Tewaaraton Award Nominees. He is the first player in program history to make the list.Â

• The sophomore attackman has scored at least two points in 28-straight games. He has logged 149 total points (70 goals, 79 assists) over that span.

Tim Troutner Jr. took home First-Team All-SoCon honors in 2019.

• The Annapolis, Md. native is second in the SoCon and ranks 23rd in the NCAA in save percentage at .536. He is also third in the league and 40th in the nation in goals against average at 11.33.

• Inside Lacrosse Magazine named Nolting a Midseason Second-Team All-American, while Troutner Jr. made third team. Â

Chris Young is tops on the team with 42 goals. He is first in the nation in shot percentage at .609 and tied for 12th in goals per game at 3.00. He was named to the All-SoCon Second team.

Davis Sampere leads the Panthers in the face-off X with a .589 percentage with 186 wins. He ranks third in face-off percentage in the SoCon.

th in the nation in face-off winning percentage at .589.

• Sampere picked up a single-game record 18 ground balls against Richmond April 27. He also won a program-record 22 face-offs vs. the Spiders. The junior face-off specialist was named SoCon Defensive Player of the Week on April 27.

Hunter Vines was named to the SoCon All-Freshman Squad after scoring 13 goals and dishing out three assists during the regular season.

• The Panthers rank second in the NCAA in winning percentage (.857), fourth in scoring offense (14.86), fifth in ground balls (38.00) and in shot percentage (.340), sixth in clearing percentage (.880), ninth in scoring margin (3.50), tenth in caused turnovers (10.00) and points per game (22.64).

• Jordan Young leads the Dolphins defense with 26 caused turnovers on the season. He earned First-Team All-SoCon honors. Young is 19th in the nation in caused turnovers per game.

• Dixon Smith is first on the team with 45 ground balls and second on the team with 23 caused turnovers. He was named Second-Team All-SoCon.

• Hunter Turner leads Jacksonville in the face-off 'X' with a .386 percentage and 93 wins. Â

• Hunter Sells mans the cage for the Dolphins with a 12.70 goals against average. He has 131 saves on the year with a .437 save percentage.

• The Dolphins lead the conference with 11.14 caused turnovers per game. Jacksonville averages 12.07 goals and 6.50 assists per game.

• Head coach John Galloway is in his third season as the head coach of the Dolphins. He has a 17-26 record in Jacksonville, Fla.
