High Point Set to Host Richmond for Senior Day

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The No. 12 High Point University men's lacrosse team will host Richmond for senior day on Saturday, April 27, in the last regular season game of the 2019 season. The opening face-off is set for 12 p.m. at Vert Stadium.
 
The Panthers are coming off a win at Bellarmine, while the Spiders beat Mercer last week.
 
All-Time Series with Richmond
• The Spiders lead the series over the Panthers 6-2. Richmond took a 15-12 win over High Point on March 24, 2018 in the last meeting between the two teams.

• This will be the last regular season home game for seniors Tim Troutner Jr., Chris Young, Jake Schleppy, Brandon Savoie, Peyton Bozel, Ryan McLaughlin and Griff Caligiuri.
 
• Sophomore Asher Nolting became the only player in Southern Conference (SoCon) and HPU history to record a 30-goal, 30-assist season with 30 goals and 36 assists in 2018 and 36 goals and 40 assists thus far in 2019.
 
• Nolting is fifth in the NCAA in points per game at 5.85 and sixth in assists per game at 3.08.
 
• The Greenwood Village, Colo., native leads the SoCon in points per game and assists per game.
 
• The sophomore attackman has scored at least two points in all 27 games of his career. He has logged 142 total points (66 goals, 76 assists) over that span.
 
• Troutner Jr. leads the Panthers in the cage and averages 12.46 saves per game, which is third in the conference and 20th in the nation.
 
• The Annapolis, Md. native is second in the SoCon and ranks 16th in the NCAA in save percentage at .542. He is also third in the league and 38th in the nation in goals against average at 11.11.
 
• The senior goalie was the second pick of the fourth round of the Premier Lacrosse League College Draft by the Redwoods on April 24. He was the only goalie taken in the draft.
 
• Junior Davis Sampere leads the Panthers in the face-off 'X' with a .567 percentage with 164 wins. He ranks third in face-off percentage in the SoCon.
 
• Sampere is second in the SoCon in ground balls (6.92).  He is third in the league in faceoff percentage at .567.
 
• The Raleigh, N.C. is 19th in the nation in ground balls per game at 6.92 and 25th in face-off winning percentage at .567.
 
• Young is tops on the team with 39 goals. He is second in the nation in shot percentage at .600 and tied for 16th in goals per game at 3.00. He is second in the SoCon in goals per game.
 
• Nolting set a program-record with six assists vs. Air Force on April 6. He tied the program-record of nine points (3G-6A) against the Falcons.
 
• The Panthers rank third in the NCAA in scoring offense (14.85), fifth in ground balls (37.69) and in shot percentage (.340), seventh in scoring margin (3.69), ninth in caused turnovers (10.08) and clearing percentage (.875) and tenth in points per game (22.46).
 
• HPU is 15th in assists per game (7.62), 18th in saves per game (13.15), 19th in man-down defense (.698) and 25th in face-off winning percentage (.556).
 
• As a team, the Panthers lead the SoCon in ground balls (37.69), points per game (22.46), shot percentage (.340), man-down goals (0.15), shots on goal per game (25.77), assists per game (7.62) and goals per game (14.85).
 
• They rank second save percentage (.541), third in face-off percentage (.556), caused turnovers (10.08), goals against average (11.02), fourth in penalty killing percentage (.714) and  fourth in saves per game (13.15).
 
On the Spiders (8-5, 5-1)
• Teddy Hatfield leads the Spiders with 59 points and 28 assists.
 
• Hatfield is second in the SoCon in assists per game at 2.15 and points per game at 4.54.
 
• Ryan Lanchbury is tops on the team with 41 goals for Richmond. He leads the SoCon and ranks ninth in the NCAA in goals per game at 3.15.
 
• Lanchbury is second on the team with 17 assists.
 
• Sean Menges leads the Spiders' defense with a team-high 31 ground balls and 23 caused turnovers.
 
• Nick D'Amaro leads Richmond in the face-off 'X' with a .418 percentage and 74 wins.  
 
• Jack Rusbuldt mans the cage for  the Spiders with a 9.26 goals against average. He has 106 saves on the year with a .567 save percentage.
 
• Rusbuldt is tops in the SoCon and ninth in the NCAA in save percentage.
 
• The Spiders turn the ball over the least in the conference at 15.92 a game. Richmond also leads the conference in assists per game at 7.62, save percentage at .564 and penalty killing percentage at .804.
 
•Richmond is second in the conference in goals (14.85), points (19.54), shot percentage (.320), man-up scoring percentage (.382) and goals against average (10.12).
 
• Head coach Dan Chemotti is in his sixth season as head coach of the Spiders. He has compiled a 59-36 record during his time in Richmond, Va.
 
• Chemotti has taken UR to two NCAA Tournaments and three regular season titles.
