HIGH POINT, N.C.—The No. 23 High Point University women's lacrosse team (6-4) opens its Big South schedule Saturday (March 30) at home against Longwood (3-7). First draw at Vert Stadium is set for 3 p.m. as part of the second leg of a doubleheader with the HPU men's lacrosse team and will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

Last time out, the Panthers defeated Elon, 16-12, Wednesday evening (March 27) at Vert Stadium. With six points on four goals and two assists, sophomore
Abby Hormes passed the 100 career-point mark. Senior
Valerie Pelling recorded four points with a hat trick and an assist, while fellow senior
Allie Little had three points on a goal and two assists.

Samantha Herman became the first Panther to record 200 career draw controls after collecting seven. She has 205 now in her career. Herman also scored two goals, as did sophomore
Rachel Foster and freshman
Mena Loescher. On the defensive end, redshirt junior
Meredith Chapman caused five turnovers and grabbed five draw controls and three ground balls.

Sarah Zeto made 11 saves against Elon and improved to 5-4 on the season with a .431 save percentage.

Ashley Britton is one draw control away from moving into a tie for second all-time at HPU. She has 135 in three years for the Purple & White. She is also four points shy of 100 career points. Chapman is four ground balls away from 100 for her career.

ALL TIME SERIES WITH LONGWOOD
This will be the 12th all-time meeting between High Point and Longwood. The Panthers lead the series 11-0, winning the last meeting in, 22-2, in Farmville, Va., on April 21,2018.

ON THE LANCERS
Longwood is 3-7 on the season and are coming off a 15-8 victory over East Carolina on Saturday (March 23) in Farmville, Va. Kaitlin Luccarelli leads the team with 45 points, 29 goals and 16 assists.
