HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University men's lacrosse team will host Furman on Saturday, March 30, at Vert Stadium. The opening face-off is set for 12 p.m. The HPU women's lacrosse team will play at 3 p.m. following the conclusion of the men's lacrosse game.
 
The Panthers are coming off a loss at Jacksonville, while Furman lost to Air Force last week.
 
All-Time Series with Furman
• The Panthers lead the series with the Paladins 4-1. High Point took a 15-7 win over Furman on April 7, 2018 in the last meeting.

• Sophomore Asher Nolting is tied for fifth in assists per game at 3.00 and seventh in the NCAA in points per game at 5.44.
 
• The Greenwood Village, Colo., native leads the Southern Conference (SoCon) in points per game and assists per game.
 
• Nolting has scored at least two points in 22-straight games. He has logged 115 total points (52 goals, 63 assists) over that span.
 
• Senior Tim Troutner Jr. leads the Panthers in the cage and averages 12.00 saves per game, which is third in the conference and 23rd in the nation.
 
• The Annapolis, Md. native is first in the SoCon and ranks 18th in the NCAA in save percentage at .554. He is also third in the league and 31st in the nation in goals against average at 10.42.
 
• Junior Davis Sampere leads the Panthers in the face-off X with a .600 percentage with 117 wins. He has the most wins in the SoCon and ranks second in face-off percentage.
 
• Sampere is 12th in the nation in ground balls per game at 7.89.
 
• The Raleigh, N.C. is tops in the SoCon in ground balls (7.89).  He is second in the league in face-off percentage at .600.
 
• Senior Chris Young is tops on the team with 29 goals. He is second in the nation in shot percentage at .644.
 
• Young scored four goals in each of the first two games of the 2019 season and added a third four-goal game against RMU. He has scored at least one goal in 21-straight games. The senior has scored 48 goals over that span.
 
• Young posts the second-best shot percentage in the NCAA at .644 and the 10th in goals per game at 3.22.
 
• Young is second in the SoCon in goals per game at 3.22 and sixth in points per game at 3.89.
 
•Junior Ben Baker set a career-high with four goals against UMBC March 9. He has four hat tricks on the year.
 
• The Panthers rank second in the NCAA in ground balls (40.56), fourth in scoring offense (14.44), sixth in shot percentage (.331), ninth in scoring margin (3.89), 11th in points per game (21.33) and in caused turnovers (10.56).
 
• HPU is 15th in face-off winning percentage (.595), 18th in clearing percentage (.858), 20th in saves per game (12.89), and 21st man-down defense (.719).
 
• As a team, the Panthers lead the SoCon in ground balls (40.56), points per game (21.33), shot percentage (.331), man-down goals (0.22), shots on goal per game (26.33), face-off percentage (.595) and goals per game (14.44).

• Cole Horan grabs a team-high 2.89 ground balls.
 
• Michael Abizaid leads the Paladin in the face-off 'X' with a 59-138 record and a .428 percentage.
 
• Alec Van de Bovenkamp mans the cage for Furman with 13.03 goals against average. He has a .489 save percentage, which is seventh in the SoCon. Van de Bovenkamp is fourth in the conference with 11.89 saves per game.
 
• As a team, Furman scores 10.67 goals and grabs 31.2 ground balls per game.
 
• Head coach Richie Meade is in his sixth season as head coach of the Paladins. He has compiled a 26-74 during his time in Greenville, S.C.
 
• He has a 195-194 all-time record with stops at Navy and Baltimore.
