HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University men's lacrosse will head to Jacksonville, Fla. To play Jacksonville Saturday, March 23. The opening face-off is set for 12 p.m.
 
The Panthers lead the series with the Dolphins 6-2. Jacksonville took a 12-11 win over High Point in the semifinals of the 2018 SoCon Tournament on May 3, 2018.

• Sophomore Asher Nolting is tied for seventh in assists per game at 3.00 and sixth in the NCAA in points per game at 5.50.
 
• The Greenwood Village, Colo., native leads the SoCon in points per game and assists per game.
 
• The sophomore attackman has scored at least two points in 21-straight games. He has logged 110 total points (50 goals, 60 assists) over that span.
 
• Senior Tim Troutner Jr. leads the Panthers in the cage and averages 12.86 saves per game, which is third in the conference and 20th in the nation.
 
• The Annapolis, Md. native is first in the SoCon and ranks ninth in the NCAA in save percentage at .566. He is also third in the league and 22nd in the nation in goals against average at 10.20.
 
• Troutner set a High Point single-game record with 22 saves against Jacksonville May 3, 2018.
 
• Junior Davis Sampere leads the Panthers in the face-off X with a .603 percentage with 105 wins. He has the most wins in the SoCon and ranks second in face-off percentage.
 
• Senior Chris Young is tops on the team with 27 goals. He is first in the SoCon and tied for seventh in the nation with 3.38 goals per game.
 
• Young posts the best shot percentage in the NCAA at .692 and the seventh in goals per game at 3.38. His seven goals against UMBC tied for the seventh-most by an individual player in the NCAA this season.
 
 
•Junior Ben Baker set a career-high with four goals against UMBC March 9. He has four hat tricks on the year.
 
• Nolting and Troutner Jr. were named to the 2019 Tewaaraton Watch List. Nolting was added to the list last season. This is Troutner's first time on the list.
 
• Young scored four goals in each of the first two games of the 2019 season and added a third four-goal game against RMU. He has scored at least one goal in 20-straight games. The senior has scored 46 goals over that span.
 
• The Panthers rank second in the NCAA in ground balls (41.38), fifth in scoring offense (15.00), sixth in scoring margin (4.63), eighth in shot percentage (.336), ninth in points per game (21.88) and 12th in caused turnovers (10.38).
 
• HPU is 16th man-down defense (.733) and face-off winning percentage (.595), 17th in saves per game (13.25), 20th in clearing percentage (.859) and 22nd in scoring defense (10.38).
 
• The Panthers posted the fifth-most points by any NCAA Division I team in a single game this season with 37 against UMBC.
 
• As a team, the Panthers lead the SoCon in ground balls (41.38), points per game (21.88), shot percentage (.336), man-down goals (0.25), shots on goal per game (27.50), face-off percentage (.595) and goals per game (15.00).
 
• They rank second in penalty killing percentage (.759), third in caused turnovers (10.38), goals against average (10.18), assists (6.88)  and  fourth in saves per (13.25).
 
National Recognition
• Nolting native finished last season on the Tewaraaton Award Watch List. He was the only SoCon player named to the list.
 
On the Dolphins (2-6, 1-0)
• Evan Tyler leads Jacksonville and ranks seventh in the SoCon with 19 goals this season.
 
• Eric Applegate is tops on the team and fourth in the conference in assists with 14 and 1.75 per game.
 
• Jack Dolan leads the Dolphins and ranks seventh in the SoCon with 3.62 points per game.
 
• Dixon Smith grabs a team-high 3.5 ground balls per game. He also leads the team with 2.0 caused turnovers per game.
 
• Hunter Turner leads the Dolphins in the face-off 'X' with a 74-285 record and a .400 percentage.
 
• Hunter Sells mans the cage for JU with 13.63 goals against average. He has a .438 save percentage, which is eighth in the SoCon. Stump is sixth in the conference with 9.62 saves per game.
 
• Jacksonville leads the SoCon in caused turnovers per game at 11.88.
 
• As a team, the Dolphins are second in the conference in shots percentage (.318) and turnovers per game (16.62).
 
• Head coach John Galloway is in his third season at Jacksonville. He has compiled a 13-24 record during his time in Jacksonville, Fla.
