HIGH POINT, N.C.—The High Point University women's lacrosse team (2-2) hosts its second game in three days as Marquette (3-3) comes to town Sunday (March 3). First draw at Vert Stadium is set for noon and the game will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

Last time out, the Panthers defeated Old Dominion, 17-4, on Friday evening (March 1) at Vert Stadium.

The Panthers scored the first seven goals of the game and never looked back. High Point had 40 shots and held the Monarchs to 10. HPU also led in ground balls, 25-13, and draw controls, 12-9. The Purple & White improved to 7-2 in home openers in the program's history.

Sophomore
Rachel Foster led High Point with five points on three goals and two assists, while fellow sophomore
Kaely Kyle added four goals.Â

Junior
Ashley Britton recorded a hat trick was picking up four draw controls and four ground balls, and senior
Samantha Herman added a pair of goals and sophomore
Abby Hormes had three points on a goal and two assists.

Britton leads the Panthers in four categories, including 13 point, 12 points, 15 ground balls and 14 draw controls. Herman is second on the team with 12 points on eight goals and a team-leading four assists.

Sarah Zeto started all four games this season and has made 25 saves while picking up 12 ground balls.

Herman is the school-record holder for career draw controls with 184, while Britton has moved up to fifth this season with 125. Herman is also fifth all-time at HPU with 76 caused turnovers.

This will be the first meeting all-time between the two programs.

ON THE GOLDEN EAGLES
Marquette is 3-3 on the season after falling to Ohio State, 11-9, Friday (March 1) in Columbus, Ohio. Grace Gabriel leads the Golden Eagles with 24 points and 22 goals. Cate Soccodato leads the team with 19 assists. Julianna Horning has started all six games in goal and has a .343 save percentage.
