HIGH POINT, N.C.—The No. 25 High Point University women's lacrosse team travels for spring break to play at No. 14 Johns Hopkins Wednesday evening (March 13) in Baltimore. First draw at Homewood Field is set for 5 p.m.

The Panthers (3-3) are coming off of a tough 16-15 defeat to then-No. 16 Florida Saturday (March 9) at Vert Stadium. Sophomore
Abby Hormes recorded five points on four goals and an assist and was named Big South Offensive Player of the Week for her efforts.Â

Hormes also collected a career-high 10 draw controls, which is the second-most in a single game in program history. Freshman
Mena Loescher also recorded five points on three goals and two assists.

High Point is ranked No. 25 in the IWLCA National Coaches' Poll this week. It is the second-straight year the Panthers have been nationally ranked, reaching as high as No. 16 in 2018.

Hormes and junior
Ashley Britton are tied for the team lead with 22 points. Britton has a team-leading 20 goals and also is second on the team in both draw controls (19) and ground balls (17). Hormes has tallied 15 goals and seven assists and leads HPU in draw controls with 25. Senior
Samantha Herman is third on the squad with 15 points and leads the Purple & White with 18 ground balls.

Herman is the school record holder with 191 career draw controls and has moved up to fourth on HPU's all-time list with 113 ground balls. She is also fifth in caused turnovers with 79. Britton is four away from third all-time at HPU with 130 draw controls.

ON THE BLUE JAYS
Johns Hopkins comes into the game riding a four-game win streak after defeating Hofstra, 15-11, on Saturday (March 9) in Hampstead, N.Y. Maggie Schneidereith leads the Blue Jays with 33 points on a team-leading 21 goals and 12 assists. Miranda Ibello leads JHU in assists with 15.
