HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University men's lacrosse team will host Robert Morris on Saturday, March 2. The opening face-off is set for 12 p.m. at Vert Stadium.
 
The series is tied 2-2 between the Panthers and the Colonials. Robert Morris took an 11-16 win in Moon Township, Pa. on March 3, 2018 in the last meeting between the teams.
 
On the Panthers (4-1)
• Sophomore Asher Nolting is 20th in the NCAA in points per game at 5.00 and tied for 12th in assists per game at 2.60.
 
• The Greenwood Village, Colo., native is second in the SoCon in points per game and assists per game.
 
• Senior Tim Troutner Jr. leads the Panthers in the cage and averages 13.20 saves per game, which is third in the conference and 15th in the nation.
 
• The Annapolis, Md. native is second in the SoCon and ranks 10th in the NCAA in save percentage at .589 and second in the league goals against average at 9.15.
 
• Junior Davis Sampere leads the Panthers in the face-off X with a .539 percentage with 62 wins.
 
• Senior Chris Young is tops on the team with 13 goals.
 
• Nolting and Troutner Jr. were named to the 2019 Tewaaraton Watch List. Nolting was added to the list last season. This is Troutner's first time on the list.
 
• HPU was ranked No. 8 in the Nike/US Lacrosse Magazine Poll this week. The Panthers were No. 11 in the Inside Lacrosse Poll and No. 13 in the USILA Coaches Poll.
 
• The Panthers rank sixth in the NCAA in ground balls (39.60), 12th in caused turnovers (11.20), 15th in scoring defense (9.20), 16th in scoring margin (3.60), 19th in scoring offense (12.80) and 21st in saves per game (13.20).
 
• As a team, the Panthers lead the SoCon in ground balls (39.60). They rank second in save percentage (.589) and third in goals (12.80), saves per game (13.20) and shots on goal per game (25.00).
 
On the Colonials (1-2, 0-0)
• Ryan Smith and Matt Schmidt lead Robert Morris with seven goals and three assists each.
 
• Tyson Gibson is third on the team with five goals.
 
• Eddie Smith is tops on the team in assists with four.
 
• Trey Arnold is the leader in the face-off 'X' for the Colonials with 29 wins and a .537 winning percentage.
 
• Alex Heger mans the cage for Robert Morris. He has 29 saves on the season and allows 16.97 goals per game.
 
• The Colonials lead the Northeast Conference (NEC) with 53.67 points per game. Robert Morris has scored six man-up goals in 11 chances on the season.
 
• Robert Morris averages the fewest turnovers in the NEC at 15.00.
