HIGH POINT, N.C.—The High Point University women's lacrosse team (1-1) continues on the road Saturday (Feb. 23), taking on defending NCAA champion and No. 7 James Madison (2-1). First draw from Harrisonburg, Va., is set for 1 p.m.

Last time out, the Panthers fell, 13-9, at then-No. 2 North Carolina on Friday (Feb. 15) in Chapel Hill, N.C. Sophomore
Abby Hormes scored a hat trick to lead HPU against the Tar Heels.

Samantha Herman leads HPU in scoring this season with six goals and three assists for nine points. Hormes leads the squad with seven goals, while junior
Ashley Britton is right behind with six goals of her own.Â

Britton leads the Panthers in the draw circle, recording 10 draw controls through two games, while Hormes has added eight. Britton also leads HPU outfield players with eight ground balls.

This will be the fifth meeting all-time between the programs. JMU leads the series, 3-1, and has won the last two meetings, including a close 13-11 win on Feb. 24, 2018 at Vert Stadium.

JMU is 2-1 on the season after defeating UConn, 18-9, on Sunday (Feb. 17). Logan Brennan and Hanna Haven lead the team with 13 points each. Brennan has a team-leading 11 goals, while Haven leads JMU with seven assists.Â
