HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University men's lacrosse team will travel to Charlottesville, Va. to play No. 11 Virginia on Monday, Feb. 18. The opening face-off is set for 4 p.m.
 
The Panthers are coming off an overtime win at Drexel, while the Cavaliers defeated Lehigh in their last game.
 
All-Time Series with Virginia
• The Panthers trail the Cavaliers 1-2 in the all-time series. Virginia took a 12-18 decision on February 20, 2018 in the last meeting between the teams.

• Sophomore Asher Nolting is 11th in the NCAA in points per game at 5.7 and sixth in assists per game at 3.3.
 
• The Greenwood Village, Colo., native leads the SoCon in points per game and assists per game.
 
• The sophomore has scored at least two points in 17-straight games. He has logged 83 total points (37 goals, 46 assists) over that span.
 
• Nolting is sixth in the NCAA in assists per game at 3.3.
 
• Senior Tim Troutner Jr. leads the Panthers in the cage and averages 12.7 saves per game.
 
• Troutner posts a 7.83 goals against average, which is third in the NCAA. He is also third in save percentage at .623. 
 
• The Panthers posted the first shutout in program history when they did not allow St. Bonaventure to score to open the 2019 season. 
 
• The Annapolis, Md. native leads the SoCon and ranks third in the NCAA in goals against average at 7.83 and save percentage at .623.
 
• Junior Davis Sampere leads the Panthers in the face-off X with a .524 percentage with 33 wins.
 
• Sampere is seventh in the nation in ground balls per game at 7.3. 
 
• Senior Chris Young is tops on the team with 10 goals. He has scored at least one goal in 15-straight games. The senior has scored 29 goals over that span. 
 
•Junior Ben Baker has scored exactly three goals in all three games this season.
 
• Inside Lacrosse and US Lacrosse Magazine ranked HPU No. 13 in their latest polls, which marks the program's highest ranking in history.
 
• The Panthers rank third in the NCAA in ground balls (38.3) and scoring defense (8.0) and fourth in caused turnovers (13.3) and scoring margin (6.0).
 
On the Cavaliers (1-1)
• Michael Kraus and Dox Aitken lead Virginia with five goals each.
 
• Kraus also leads the team with four assists.
 
• Justin Schwenk is the leader in the face-off 'X' with 13 wins and a .406 winning percentage. 
 
• Alex Rode mans the cage for the Cavaliers. He has 17 saves on the season and allows 12.98 goals per game.
 
• Cade Saustad is tops on the team with seven ground balls on the season.
 
• The Cavaliers lead the ACC in turnovers only giving the ball away 13 times a game.
 
• Head coach Lars Tiff is in his third season as head coach at Virginia. He has compiled a 21-14 overall record during her time in Charlottesville, Va.
 
• Tiff led the Cavaliers to the NCAA Tournament last year. He previously had stints at Brown and Stony Brook. He has 133-82 career record.
