HIGH POINT, N.C. - The High Point University men's lacrosse team will travel to Philadelphia, Pa. to take on Drexel on Saturday, Feb. 16. The opening face-off is set for 12 p.m. at Vidas Field. 
 
The Panthers are coming off a win at then-No. 2 Duke, while this will be the opening game of the 2019 season for the Dragons. 
 
All-Time Series with Drexel
• The Panthers trail the Dragons 0-2 in the all-time series. Drexel took an 11-8 decision on April 25, 2014 in the last meeting between the teams.

• Sophomore Asher Nolting is 11th in the NCAA in points per game at 6.0 and sixth in assists per game at 3.5.
 
• The Greenwood Village, Colo., native leads the SoCon in points per game and assists per game.
 
• The sophomore attackman native has scored at least two points in 16-straight games. He has logged 78 total points (35 goals, 43 assists) over that span.
 
• Nolting is sixth in the NCAA in assists per game at 3.5.
 
• Senior Tim Troutner Jr. leads the Panthers in the cage and averages 12.5 per game.
 
• The Annapolis, Md. native leads the SoCon and ranks third in the NCAA in goals against average at 4.79 and save percentage at .735.
 
• Troutner posts a 4.79 goals against average, which is third in the NCAA. He is also third in save percentage at .735. 
 
• The Panthers posted the first shutout in program history when they did not allow St. Bonaventure to score to open the 2019 season. 
 
• Junior Davis Sampere leads the SoCon in the face-off X with a 57.5 percentage with 23 wins.
 
• Sampere is seventh in the nation in ground balls per game at 9.0. 
 
• Senior Chris Young is tops on the team with eight goals.
 
• Young has scored four goals in each of the first two games of the 2019 season. He has scored at least one goal in 14-straight games. The senior has scored 27 goals over that span. 
 
•Junior Ben Baker has scored three goals in both games this season.
 
• Redshirt sophomore Chris Price logged a career-high six caused turnovers against St. Bonaventure, which is the most by any player in the NCAA. 
 
• The Panthers 13-9 win over No. 2 Duke marked the highest ranked win ever by a HPU program. 
 
• Inside Lacrosse and US Lacrosse Magazine ranked HPU No. 13 in their latest polls, which marks the program's highest ranking in history.
 
• The Panthers rank third in the NCAA in ground balls (42.5) and scoring defense (4.5) and fourth in caused turnovers (13.5) and scoring margin (8.5).
 
• Nolting was named SoCon Offensive Player of the Week, while Troutner took home Defensive Player of the Week honor on Feb. 12. Nolting averaged 2.5 goals, 3.5 assists and 6.0 points in the opening week of the season. Troutner posted an average of 12.5 saves and 4.5 goals against in the first two games.
 
On the Dragons (0-0, 0-0)
• Reid Bowering led Drexel with 31 goals last season.
 
• Matthew Varian was tops on the team in assists in 2018 with 21, while adding 28 goals.
 
• Jimmeh Koita was the leader in the face-off 'X' last season with 147 wins. He finished the season with a .546 percentage and a team-high 87 ground balls. 
 
• The Dragons finished fifth in the Colonial Athletic Association with a 5-8 overall record and a 1-4 conference mark. 
 
• Head coach Brian Voelker is entering his 10th season at the helm for Drexel. He has compiled a 74-61 record for the Dragons. 
 
• Voelker has led the Dragons to one NCAA tournament.
 
• He made a stop at Penn prior to Drexel. Voelker has a 116-112 career record.
