HIGH POINT, N.C.—The High Point University women's lacrosse team travels to Chapel Hill on Friday evening (Feb. 15) to take on No. 2 North Carolina. First draw at Kenan Stadium is set for 6 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra.
 
The Panthers (1-0) opened up the season with a 21-12 win at Furman on Saturday (Feb. 9) in Greenville, S.C.
 
Senior Samantha Herman tallied a career-high seven points with five goals and two assists, while junior Ashley Britton and sophomores Abby Hormes and Kaely Kyle each added four goals each.
 
Herman was named the Big South Offensive Player of the Week, while sophomore Sarah Zeto was named the conference's Defensive Player of the Week after recording nine saves and picking up a career-high nine ground balls. Freshman Julia Nicastro was named Big South Freshman of the Week after posting a goal and two assists.

The Panthers are 0-6 all-time against the Tar Heels, including a 14-10 loss on Feb. 16, 2018 at Vert Stadium.

North Carolina is 1-0 on the season after defeating defending NCAA champion James Madison, 18-7, on Saturday (Feb. 14). Katie Hoeg, who had career highs with six assists and nine points in the win, and Taylor Moreno, who made 10 saves in goal, led the way for UNC against the Dukes
